Therapy tailored to you with care, creativity, and connection.
My practice is based in Horsham, where I offer counselling, hypnotherapy and creative approaches in a safe and supportive environment. Whether you're seeking therapy for yourself or a young person, my practice provides a warm, confidential space to explore and make positive change.
Below are the different ways we can work together – explore what speaks to you.
Hypnotherapy
Relax, drift inward and awaken change.
Counselling
A safe space to explore and feel heard at your own pace.
Creative Approaches
Explore using paint, clay, sand, metaphor and imagery.
What brings you to therapy might be varied or you may have a specific reason that you wish to focus on.
Through our work together we can begin to unravel what might feel entangled, overwhelming and confusing through an exploration of feelings, patterns of relating and behaviours.
When we do this together, shifts in how you feel about the world and how you relate to others can occur, creating a better sense of connection with who you are. Therapy can empower you to make changes in your life by helping you to make links and manage painful feelings that are surfacing.
I’ll work alongside you in a way that feels supportive, compassionate, and empowering.
The Heart of My Approach
I offer counselling in a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We’ll work at your pace to understand what’s going on beneath the surface and find new ways forward.
Counselling can be helpful for many issues including anxiety, illness, trauma, low self-worth, relationships difficulties, and life transitions.
Our work together unfolds gently over time. There’s no rush, just space to move at your own pace, with support by your side.
Using guided relaxation and focused attention, hypnotherapy can help access the subconscious mind to support deep transformation and change. It can be particularly effective for phobias, anxiety, stress, habits, inner critic work and self-confidence.
If you prefer a more imaginative or expressive approach, we can work with imagery, metaphor, visual tools, and gentle creative techniques. This can especially be helpful when words are hard to find or when working with younger clients.
With many years’ experience, I understand how important it is for teenagers and young people to feel heard and supported.
I offer a safe space where they can explore what’s going on for them, build confidence and coping skills, and get to know themselves more deeply.
For those who find it hard to put feelings into words, we can also use creative approaches. Everything is guided by their pace, in a space built on trust and understanding.
I offer tools, tips and supportive posts where I talk more about creativity and therapy on my facebook page: Creatively Dreaming Therapy, with Helen Taylor.
How Sessions Work
Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and are available in-person, online or via the telephone, depending on what works best for you. Hypnotherapy sessions typically last approximately 60 minutes, depending on what we’re working on and the length of the hypnosis itself. Sessions are offered in-person or online.
Sessions usually take place weekly but if you would like sessions fortnightly, this can be arranged as appropriate to meet your needs. You may choose to have counselling, hypnotherapy or a combination of both therapies and I am happy to chat about this with you. I offer both shorter term and longer-term therapy, and we’ll regularly review our work together to make sure it continues to meet your needs.
I understand that it can feel vulnerable to make that first step and make contact and it’s important to find the right therapist for you.
If you’re thinking about starting therapy but aren’t sure where to begin, I am happy to chat with you online, by email or via the telephone. We can talk about what you’re looking for, and what feels like the next step.
At our first session I will talk with you in more detail about what has brought you to therapy, your current relationships, support networks and details of your history. At the end of the first session, if I feel I can support you and you would like to meet again, then we can book in further sessions.I offer a safe space where they can explore what’s going on for them, build confidence and coping skills, and get to know themselves more deeply.
For those who find it hard to put feelings into words, we can also use creative approaches. Everything is guided by their pace, in a space built on trust and understanding.
